It is designed as a vehicle for developing a solid understanding of the whole TCP/IP protocol stack. We'll begin by looking at the general connectivity services provided by the IP, TCP, and UDP protocols; consider some recent developments and proposals that aim at strengthening the TCP/IP infrastructure; and then examine various applications built on that infrastructure, concentrating on web- and multimedia-related issues. Course work will consist of written exercises and machine configuration.
