The University of Chicago Cancer Research Center (UCCRC) has been a pioneer in the study and treatment of malignant mesothelioma for more than twenty years. The UCCRC program uses a team approach involving medical oncologists, surgeons, nurses, pathologists, imaging specialists and scientists who meet weekly to discuss the patients and the program. These specialists are knowledgeable in the unique characteristics of malignant mesothelioma. Through this multidisciplinary approach UCCRC has attained an expertise in developing novel treatments.
UCCRC main focus is to identify and develop treatment regimens to improve the quality of their patients' lives and to eliminate mesothelioma as a fatal disease.
