All employers in the United States have the responsibility to provide workplace training, for its employees regarding the hazards of asbestos and the safe handling of asbestos and asbestos containing materials. Prevention of exposure to asbestos is the responsibility of not only the employees, but also of the companies.
Large fines or legal suits can be brought against companies if regulations are neglected. Contact your local OSHA office for more information on designing an adequate training program for company staff. Educating staff will protect the entire company from liability and asbestos hazards.
